Private equity settled into a tuck-in, bolt-on sprint in early May
Eight deals across pools, autism care, aviation leasing, and IP consolidation suggest platforms are buying growth while the exit window stays narrow.

Private equity deal flow this week looked less like a comeback and more like a refinement. Eight transactions surfaced across PE Hub in a 48-hour window, and seven of them were add-ons, roll-ups, or platform expansions. The eighth was an exit into the hands of another consolidator.
O2 Investment Partners-backed Azureon acquired Pooltek Services, a residential pool maintenance firm. Main Street Capital-backed Zig picked up Provadie to deepen its software footprint. Skoyen Capital acquired Bartec Municipal Technologies, a waste and recycling software provider. CVC agreed to acquire Clevertech, an Italian packaging automation business. Each deal follows the same script: buy a platform, add capacity, extend the runway before a sale.
The two outliers were Partners Group's $250 million investment in Avenue Capital's commercial aviation leasing portfolio—a bet on asset-backed income as travel demand holds—and Cathay Capital's rollout of Ascendia Autism Care, a new behavioral health platform built from scratch. Genesis Capital exited GTH Catering, though the buyer was not disclosed. IVEST and Cloverlay sold Care Bears to Authentic Brands Group, which continues to vacuum up IP with licensing potential.
The pattern is consistent with a market where sponsor-to-sponsor exits remain expensive and IPO windows are closed. Platforms are buying earnings, not waiting for multiple expansion. The tuck-in is the trade until the exit tape improves.
