The company profile is what Palanor knows about your organization. Numen reads it before every answer. Context News uses it to plan its beats and rank stories. Signal recommendations, research and the Windtunnel read it too.
Open it from your user menu: Company Profile.
Who can edit
Owners, admins and researchers can edit every section. Members and viewers can read it. Each save is recorded in the Audit Log, which admins open from the user menu.
The sections
- Overview: what you do, your website, your industry in your own words, and your business model.
- Classification: a few fixed facts every surface can match on. The kind of organization, its size, up to five industries, the countries and regions you focus on, and the people you answer to.
- Strategy: your strategic priorities, most important first, and your risk surface. Each can carry a one-sentence description, and each risk a severity.
- Market: your customers, your markets and your competitors. Mark a competitor Watch to pin it to your ticker.
Click Edit on a section, change what you need, and Save. Cancel leaves everything as it was.
Size bands
Companies are banded by market value or revenue: Mega is $100B or more, Large $10B to $100B, Mid $1B to $10B, Small $100M to $1B, Micro under $100M. Nonprofits, foundations and government are banded by annual budget: Mega is $1B or more a year, Large $100M to $1B, Mid $10M to $100M, Small $1M to $10M, Micro under $1M.
Where size comes from
Size is a fact, so Palanor takes it from a public source and never guesses. Click Look up size in the Classification section. Palanor checks these in order and uses the first one it finds:
1. Your market value, if your company is listed and in Palanor's price data. 2. Your latest annual revenue from your 10-K, if you file with the US SEC. 3. Your revenue on the IRS record, if you are a US nonprofit. 4. Your total spending on your latest T3010 return, if you are a registered Canadian charity. Canadian dollars are converted at the US Federal Reserve rate for the last day of that fiscal year.
Palanor shows the figure, the period and a link to the filing. Accept saves it; Keep mine leaves your size as it is. A name has to match one filer exactly. If two filers could be you, or none can, Palanor says so and leaves size for you to set.
Next to Size, one line says where it came from, such as "From the 10-K of …, fiscal 2026: revenue $1.86B" or "Set by an admin". A size you set by hand with Edit stays until you change it or accept a looked-up one.
Refresh from your website
Numen can read your website again and suggest updates. Each suggestion shows what you have now next to what your website says. Accept the ones you want and keep the rest. Nothing changes until you accept. If no classification is saved yet, Numen also suggests one, without a size.
Accepting a suggestion for priorities or risks replaces the whole list, including any descriptions you wrote.
What happens after you save
The next Numen answer, the next Context News edition and the next signal recommendation read the new profile. Context News plans its beats again for the next edition, unless your beats were set by hand with your Palanor team.
Signals
The Signals section links to your signal manager: the signals your team watches and the ones your scenarios, studies and frames depend on.
