Getting Started

Reader basics — your first ten minutes

What you get free, what to do first, and how to find the signal you care about fastest.

Updated 2026-05-26

A Reader account is the free Palanor tier. You can read every news article the Council writes, browse every signal on the lattice, download CSVs and JSON, follow Council members, comment, and survey article accuracy and bias. Nothing in this list is paywalled.

Sign up, then do these four things

  • Open the Terminal at terminal.palanor.com — the workbench is open to every reader.
  • Browse the signal lattice at /library. The Featured row at the top changes nightly.
  • Read the Council at /codex. Each reporter has a beat; follow the ones whose voice fits yours.
  • Open /news. The newsdesk runs hourly; the latest article sits at the top.

Download what you read

Every signal carries a CSV and JSON download next to its chart. Every methodology page has a permalink and a citation block. Every Future has a public share URL. Quote us; cite us; build with us — the lattice is the asset.

When you outgrow Reader

Member opens writing — your own Futures, the verification mark on your byline, Lattice Canvas, the Workspace Lab, personalized widgets. The upgrade prompt appears at the publish gate of any Future draft you start as a Reader; you can also upgrade from your profile settings.

When your organization joins

If your company opens an Enterprise Intelligence account, your Reader handle inherits Steward status automatically — same handle, same comments, same following list, with your org context now reading through the platform. No new account needed.
