Finding your way: scopes and the menu

One menu on your own pages and in your organization: a scope switcher at the top, your scope's pages on the left, the world below them, ⌘K for anything, and one bell.

Updated 2026-10-22

Palanor has one chrome wherever you are, on your own pages and in your organization, all at app.palanor.com. Three things find your way: the scope at the top, the menu on the left, and ⌘K.

Scope: whose work is in front of you

The box at the top left names your scope: Me (your own desk), one of your clients (Terminal Pro), a firm you belong to, or an organization you belong to. Open it to switch. It lists You, then Your clients with Add a client, then Firm (each firm, with its clients assigned to you beneath it), then your Organizations with your role in each. A subsidiary sits beneath its parent there, marked ladders up or separate. Board members see their organization marked Board.

Choosing Me opens your Launchpad. Choosing a client opens that client's page. Choosing an organization opens its home page, and the pages that work for an organization (Numen, the command search) then act for that one.

The menu

The menu on the left has fixed sections, in the same order every time.

  • The upper sections follow your scope. As Me: Your work (Launchpad, Numen, Watchlist, Lists), Clients (on Terminal Pro only; Readers don't see it), and a section for each firm you belong to with the firm's clients assigned to you. In a client: that client's overview, Numen sessions, signals, reports and brand kit. In a firm: The firm (Overview, Numen, Clients, Reports, Brand kit, Members & seats, Usage & billing) and its clients. In an organization: its products (Context News, Casts, Numen, Scenarios, Futures, Studies, Signal Watchlist, Contacts and the rest), then Board for owners and admins (Board Gateway, Quarterly pack, Board questions, Gateway settings), Subsidiaries when it has any, Manage (Members & seats, Usage, and Subsidiaries & sharing or Sharing with its parent) for owners and admins, then Beta.
  • Analysis tools sit under your own and your clients' pages: Overlay & Correlate (the Lab), Correlation Table (the Matrix), Signal Canvas (the Weave) and Build a signal. The names say what each one does; each page keeps its old name as its eyebrow.
  • Explore never moves. Explore (Signal Library, Signal Map, Charts, News, Markets, Discourse, Screener, World, States, Credit, Private capital, Research, Calendar) and Community (Feed, Almanac, Surveys, Council) sit below, in every scope. In an organization, Screener, World, States, Credit and Research open inside it.
  • Settings and Help sit at the foot.

A coral dot marks the sections that belong to your scope; a firm's sections, and a client the firm holds, wear a cyan dot. The page you are on is the one row in coral. Tags say PREVIEW or PRO where they apply; everything under Beta is still being tested.

Click a section's heading to close it; it stays closed in that browser until you open it again. The button beside Quick search opens or closes every section at once. In an organization, Community starts closed, and an owner or admin can hide it or turn on the preview modules under Settings → Products.

The panel icon at the foot (or ⌘\, Ctrl+\ on Windows) narrows the menu to icons; hover an icon for its name. Palanor remembers your choice on that browser. On a phone, the menu opens from the button at the top left, with the scope switcher at its head.

⌘K finds anything

Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) anywhere, or / when you are not typing, or choose Quick search at the top of the menu. One box finds the pages of your current scope, your clients and organizations (choosing one switches scope), then signals, charts, companies and the rest. In an organization it also finds that organization's scenarios and Help articles. The last row is always Ask Numen: press ⌥↵ (Alt+Enter) to ask him what you typed. See The command bar for the functions you can run on a result.

The bell

The bell at the top right holds what is waiting for you, from every scope: Needs you (changes Numen proposed for your approval, flags on your work, Council messages), Activity (alerts and everything else) and Messages. Each item names its scope; opening it takes you there. The count turns magenta when something needs you. See all opens the full notifications or messages page.

See Firms: shared clients on Terminal Pro, and Subsidiaries and what ladders up.

What changed on 2026-10-21

The Terminal and your organization used to have different menus: tabs and a 9-dot drawer on the Terminal, a rail of pinned products and a 9-dot menu in the organization, and buttons to cross between them. They are now one shell. Pins are gone: the menu is the same for everyone in a scope. Every page kept its address.

On 2026-10-22 the Terminal's pages moved to app.palanor.com under the same paths; old terminal.palanor.com links still open. The same day the menu was renamed: The world became Explore, Library became Signal Library, Network became Signal Map, Lab, Matrix and Weave moved into Analysis tools under plain names, Signal Watch became Signal Watchlist, Relate became Contacts, Coming became Beta, and Board Gateway got its own section.
