Research is where Palanor publishes what the lattice says over a longer horizon than the morning edition. Every edition is written from the record: the evidence is gathered by code from the series, Custom Indices, Schemas, Currents and the ledger; the Council writes against that evidence under the house facts rules; a checker reads every number back against its series before an editor approves it. The byline on every edition is Palanor Research · prepared by the Council.
The franchises
- Quarterly Outlook — the state of the lattice at quarter close: where the cycle sits, the named motions, growth and labor, prices and policy, credit and the capital window, what companies are saying and spending, the world outside, what to watch. Published in the weeks after each quarter ends.
- Regional outlook — the same discipline for one economy: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Mexico, the euro area, Brazil, India, South Africa, and the BRICS and G7 groups. Quarterly.
- Industry reading — one industry at a time (software, energy, manufacturing, healthcare, financial services and ten more), read through its sector series, employment, postings, Schemas and Currents. Quarterly.
- Current deep dive — one named motion a month, from its own components.
- Predictions — twice a year, written as dated propositions the ledger will score.
- Signal note — a short weekly reading of one series that moved.
Reading an edition
Open Research under The World in the menu. The list shows the editions available to your organization, newest first, grouped by franchise. Each opens to the abstract, the key findings, the sections with their charts, the method, and the sources. Every number carries the series it came from; the chart under each section is drawn from the stored observations, never pasted in. Reading is never metered. Print or export when you need to hand it to a room.
Each edition opens on its cover, and the cover is drawn from the edition's own evidence: the series it reads. An industry reading shows the year as four blocks of dots, one dot per series it reads, with its own quarter lit and joined. A regional outlook shows a dot map of the region with its lead series drawn across it over ten years. On an outlook each ring is one series, its arc running as far around as the latest reading sits in its five-year record. A line under the cover, About the cover, says what you are looking at. Each franchise keeps its own motif, so a shelf of editions reads as a series. The same cover leads the PDF.
Figures
Where a section's evidence supports it, the edition carries a figure built by code from the record: Where the readings stand (each series placed within its own five-year record), Where the cycle sits (each Schema's stages, the leading one shaded), The named motions, mapped (Currents by belief and momentum), The calendar ahead, and The ledger, scored. Each figure has a Show the numbers table under it.
Listening
Under the executive summary, Listen reads the edition in Numen's voice: the summary and findings (about two minutes) or the full edition. The player has back and forward 15 seconds, speed from 0.75× to 2×, and chapters: open Chapters to jump to a section, and turn on Follow along to have the page scroll to each section as it is read. It remembers your speed and where you stopped, keeps a slim bar at the bottom of the screen while you read further down, and works from your lock screen. With the player focused: space plays or pauses, ← and → skip 15 seconds, [ and ] change speed. Charts, figures and the notes for your organization are not read. Listening is never metered.
What an edition will not do
It will not tell you what to buy or sell, it will not name a cause the evidence does not state, and it will not call a reading a record unless the series' own history says so. Where the lattice has no evidence, the edition says so rather than filling the gap.
Following
Follow a franchise from its edition and the next one lands in your notifications when it publishes.
