The command bar is one line for everything, on your own pages and in your organization. Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows), or / when you are not typing, or choose Quick search at the top of the menu.
Pages and scopes first
The first rows are the pages of the scope you are in, with a line on what each is, then your clients and organizations: choose one to switch scope. In an organization, its own scenarios and Help articles follow the lattice results.
Find anything
Type a name, a ticker, a FRED code or an alias: `unrate`, `cpi`, `dgs10`, `nvda`. Results come back grouped: Signals, Indices, Currents, Charts, Companies and investors, your Studies, saved screens, lists and pages. A group that names what you typed exactly comes first, so `blackrock` leads with the company and `cpi` with the Consumer Price Index. Small typos still find their match (`unemploymnt`, `mortgage rtaes`).
Results for names and codes appear as you type. Matches by meaning arrive a moment later, once you stop typing, and the row you are on stays put.
Run a function
Put a function after the name, Bloomberg style, or before it: `UNRATE CHART`, `chart cpi`, `nvda alert`. Or pick a row and press Tab to cycle its functions, shown along the bottom of the bar. Enter runs the one that is lit.
- CHART opens the signal as a live chart.
- FORESIGHT opens the chart with the Palanor Foresight forecast.
- EXPLAIN shows where the reading stands in its own record, its source, what it measures and which series move with it.
- ALERT sets an alert: on a signal, choose rises above or falls below a level (it starts at the latest reading); on a chart, you follow it and hear when new data lands; on a saved screen, its daily alert turns on.
- ADD puts a signal on your watchlist, or a signal or company on one of your team's lists.
- SCREEN opens the Entity Screener for others like the one you picked: companies in the same state and industry, or investors in the same state.
- DATA downloads the data as a CSV, when the source's licence allows it. When it only allows display, the bar says so.
- SHARE copies a link.
Questions go to Numen
Every result list ends with Ask Numen. Choose it, or press ⌥↵ (Alt+Enter) from any row, and the Numen panel opens with what you typed already asked.
Recent and pinned
The bar remembers what you ran. When the box is empty it shows your pinned commands, then the recent ones. Press ⌥P (Alt+P) on a row to pin it, including its function: a pinned `unrate CHART` runs CHART. Clear empties the recent list.
Keys
↑ ↓ move · Tab and Shift+Tab cycle functions · Enter runs · ⌥Enter asks Numen · ⌘Enter opens in a new tab · ⌥P pins · Esc steps back, then closes.
What you search is recorded, with what you picked, so Palanor can measure and improve the ranking. It is never shown to anyone else.
