Numen is the agent inside Palanor: one presence that reads the world and your workspace for you, in one voice across every product. He is a machine; "he" or "it" are both fine.
Where Numen works
- The Numen panel. Open it from the Numen mark at the top right, or type a question in ⌘K and press ⌥↵. Ask in plain words. He knows which page you're on, so "what does this mean for us?" works on a scenario, a Futures Frame, a Study, a signal or an edition item.
- Ask. On /ask, one question routes to what it needs: an answer from Numen, or a Signal, Study, Scenario, Futures Frame or Report built for you. A plain question opens the Numen panel with his answer.
- Today's Read and the personal note on Context News, written for you each morning.
- The personal read signed "Numen for [your first name]" on the dashboard, Custom Indices and Schemas pages, and the scenario page. A line signed with his name was written for you from the figures on that page. Plain labels such as "Reading" are computed, not written by Numen.
What he can see
Your morning edition and Today's Read, your scenarios and how they moved, your watchlist, open Studies and Futures Frames, every public signal and its Palanor Foresight™ forecast, Custom Indices, Currents and Schemas, Palanor Research editions, company guidance, KPIs and risk-factor changes, what companies and the Fed said in their filings and calls, and this Help Center. He sees only what you can see.
What he can do
Remember something you ask him to; build a signal; recommend signals for a scenario and propose them as a card you approve; wire a signal to a scenario (owners, admins and researchers); and file a problem report with the Palanor team when something isn't working.
How he keeps to the facts
Every figure in an answer is checked against the data he read for it. If one can't be confirmed, he rewrites the answer without it and says so under the reply. Forecasts are shown with their band and are never promises. He doesn't give buy or sell advice. Rate any answer with the thumbs under it; the team reads every rating.
Tuning him
Settings → Numen has three settings, and they shape every read above:
- Disposition (optimist, balanced, pessimist) changes which side of a read leads. The facts don't change.
- Register (plain, editorial, brief) changes density and rhythm.
- Intelligence interests tell him what to attend to.
A chat message uses your organization's Numen credits. Reading Today's Read, editions and personal reads never does.
