AI and Machine Learning Share of arXiv Submissions (Monthly)
Latest
34.2%
Methodology
## What this measures
New papers listed in cs.AI, cs.LG, cs.CL, cs.CV, cs.NE or stat.ML (each paper once) divided by all new arXiv submissions in the month.
## Why it matters
The share shows how much of science's preprint output AI now takes up.
## How to read it
Read a month against the same month a year earlier: conference deadlines and holidays move single months. The latest complete month is the newest reading; the month in progress is never stored.
## What it does not say
A cross-listed paper from another field counts as AI when it is listed in one of these categories.
## Source
arXiv API counts of papers by category and first-version submission date, complete months only; arXiv monthly submission statistics. Metadata CC0 1.0. Thank you to arXiv for use of its open access interoperability. Source: arXiv.
