Saudi Arabia Consumer Prices (12-Month Change)

Latest

1.82% y/y

Methodology

## What this measures

The change in Saudi Arabia's consumer price index from a year earlier, from the BIS long consumer price series (national source: General Authority for Statistics).

## Why it matters

Inflation in a pegged economy is set mostly by import prices and housing; it shows how much of the dollar's moves reach Saudi households.

## How to read it

Prices rose 1.8% in the year to August 2026, down from 2.3% a year earlier. The series starts in 1991; its high was 11.1% in July 2008.

## What it does not say

It does not split housing from everything else, and subsidised prices (fuel, utilities) change by decree, not by market.

## Source

Bank for International Settlements, series `WS_LONG_CPI/M.SA.771` (stats.bis.org). Palanor reads the full series every day. Source: BIS. Used under the BIS terms for statistics: reuse is unrestricted with the BIS cited as the source, and the statistics carry no additional charge in Palanor.
