Latest
3.25%
Methodology
## What this measures
The Bank of Israel's policy rate, end of month, as compiled by the BIS.
## Why it matters
It sets the cost of borrowing in Israel and shows how the central bank weighs inflation against growth.
## How to read it
It was 3.25% in September 2026, down from 4.5% a year earlier and the lowest since December 2022. Compare with Israeli consumer price inflation (bis.cpi_yoy.isr).
## What it does not say
It does not show market rates or what borrowers pay.
