Saudi Arabia Policy Rate

4.5%
Methodology
## What this measures
The Saudi Central Bank's official repo rate, end of month, as compiled by the BIS.
## Why it matters
The riyal is pegged to the dollar, so the Saudi rate follows the Federal Reserve's. Gaps between the two show how much room the peg leaves.
## How to read it
It was 4.5% in September 2026, down from 4.75% a year earlier. The series runs from January 2000; its low was 1% in March 2020. Compare with Saudi consumer price inflation (bis.cpi_yoy.sau).
## What it does not say
It does not show interbank rates (SAIBOR) or what borrowers pay.
## Source
Bank for International Settlements, series `WS_CBPOL/M.SA` (stats.bis.org). Palanor reads the full series every day. Source: BIS. Used under the BIS terms for statistics: reuse is unrestricted with the BIS cited as the source, and the statistics carry no additional charge in Palanor.
