Brazil Net Public Debt (% of GDP)
Latest
69.27% of GDP
Methodology
## What this measures
The net debt of Brazil's consolidated public sector (federal, state and local governments and state companies, less the central bank's assets such as reserves), as a percent of GDP.
## Why it matters
Brazil's fiscal path is the main domestic risk its markets price.
## How to read it
It was 69.3% in August 2026. Read it beside gross debt (brazil.fiscal.gross_debt_pct_gdp): the gap is mostly the central bank's reserves.
## What it does not say
Net debt subtracts assets, so it can fall when the real weakens (reserves rise in reais).
