Brazil Economic Activity Index (IBC-Br)

## What this measures

The central bank's monthly estimate of Brazil's economic activity, built from industry, services, farming and taxes, seasonally adjusted. It is Brazil's monthly proxy for GDP.

## Why it matters

It is the earliest official read on whether Brazil's economy is growing.

## How to read it

Read the 12-month change (brazil.ibc_br.yoy). It read 109.9 in July 2026.

## What it does not say

It is a proxy and is revised; quarterly GDP comes later from IBGE.
