Bank of Canada Business Outlook: Price Indicator

Methodology
## What this measures
A summary of Canadian firms' price pressures: expected input and output price growth and inflation expectations, from the Bank of Canada's quarterly Business Outlook Survey.
## Why it matters
Firms plan prices before consumers see them, so this is an early read on inflation pressure.
## How to read it
Zero is the historical average; positive means more price pressure than usual.
## What it does not say
It is a survey of about 100 firms, with a lag of a few weeks after each quarter. The indicator is re-estimated as new surveys arrive, so past values can change slightly.
