Canada Exports to the United States

Latest

54.35billions of CAD (monthly)

Methodology

## What this measures

The value of goods Canada sold to the United States in a month, on a balance-of-payments basis, seasonally adjusted.

## Why it matters

The United States buys about three quarters of Canadian goods exports, so this is where U.S. tariffs and U.S. demand reach Canada.

## How to read it

Compare with a year earlier, and with the U.S. share of all exports (canada.trade.us_share_of_exports) to see whether trade is shifting to other partners.

## What it does not say

It covers goods only and is in current dollars; energy prices move it as much as volumes.
