Coquimbo Region Unemployment Rate (Chile, INE)
Latest
9.36%
Methodology
## What this measures
The share of the labour force in the Coquimbo Region of north-central Chile that is unemployed, from INE's Encuesta Nacional de Empleo, as a rolling three-month average published monthly.
## Why it matters
Coquimbo combines copper mining with farming, tourism and services, and it has faced long droughts. Its job market reflects both mining activity and water-dependent agriculture.
## How to read it
Higher is worse. Read it against the national rate; the farming season adds a seasonal swing.
## What it does not say
A regional survey estimate with a small sample, so single months can be noise. Three-month averages overlap. Not seasonally adjusted.
