Global Temperature Anomaly, Trailing 365-Day Mean (ERA5) · °C

Latest

0.63°C

Methodology

## What this measures

The average of the latest 365 daily global temperature anomalies (each day against its 1991–2020 average, Copernicus ERA5), in degrees Celsius: a Palanor calculation, written only where all 365 days are present. 30 December 1940 to 17 October 2026.

## Why it matters

A rolling year removes the seasons and most of the day-to-day weather, so it moves like an annual average that updates every day.

## How to read it

The latest value is 0.63 °C above the 1991–2020 average; the highest in this record is 0.76 °C (the year to 30 June 2024).

## What it does not say

A rolling mean lags turning points by about six months. It is against 1991–2020, not pre-industrial temperatures. The last few days are preliminary.
