Armenia · Organized-Violence Deaths (UCDP, annual)

Methodology

## What this measures

Deaths from organized violence in Armenia each year: state-based armed conflict, fighting between non-state groups, and one-sided violence against civilians, by the country where the violence happened. UCDP's best estimate.

## Why it matters

Conflict is the clearest physical risk to people, operations and supply chains in a country, and escalation tends to come before currency stress, capital flight and aid appeals.

## How to read it

Deaths per year; zero means no event UCDP could code. Compare a year with the country's own record. A jump to several times the year before is an escalation.

## What it does not say

It counts deaths UCDP can attribute to an event with a known actor; deaths from disease or hunger caused by war are not included, and coverage depends on news and NGO reporting, so the true toll is often higher. The latest year arrives when UCDP publishes its annual release (June).
