Methodology

## What this measures

How far Israel is through its current national electoral term: time since the last principal national election as a share of the time to the next scheduled one, on the first of each month.

## Why it matters

Governments tend to time spending, taxes and reforms to the electoral calendar (the political business cycle), so where a country is in its term frames policy risk.

## How to read it

Zero right after an election, 100 when the next one is due. Above 75% the next election is approaching. A snap election resets it when it happens.

## What it does not say

A calendar position only: no parties, candidates, polls or outcomes. It cannot anticipate a snap election, and a year-only scheduled date is read as July 1.

## Source

Palanor election table (src/lib/country-schemas/elections.ts): dates and legal terms from national electoral commissions, parliaments and constitutions, with a source per date. For the term before the latest election the scheduled date is the previous election plus the legal term (what was known then).
