Methodology

## What this measures

Of every unit of revenue Slovenia's central government collects, the share that goes to interest.

## Why it matters

The broadest-coverage read of debt affordability in the lattice. It folds debt level, borrowing cost and tax capacity into one ratio; rating agencies watch it closely, and readings above ~20% are where sovereign stress tends to begin.

## How to read it

Compare against the country's own history and against peers; a rising line in a country with a narrow tax base is the warning.

## What it does not say

Central government only — sub-national debt is excluded, and coverage definitions vary by country. Published with a one- to two-year lag.
