Methodology
## What this measures
The average price households in Denmark pay for electricity, in euros per kWh, with all taxes and levies included, for the standard consumption band DC, 2,500 to 4,999 kWh a year, a typical home. Eurostat publishes it for each half-year; points are dated the first day of the half (January 1 for January to June, July 1 for July to December).
## Why it matters
Household power bills are a large, visible part of the cost of living, and they move with wholesale gas and power prices, network charges and energy taxes.
## How to read it
Higher means dearer power. Every country is in euros, so exchange rates move the non-euro countries. Compare it with the U.S. household price in euros (energy.palanor.electricity_price_household_eur.usa). Read it beside the share of power from wind and solar (power.ember.share.wind_and_solar) with care: taxes, levies and network charges differ widely between countries.
## What it does not say
It is one consumption band, not every customer. Taxes, levies and grid charges, not just the cost of energy, drive much of the gap between countries. It is not adjusted for price levels or incomes.
