Methodology
## What this measures
USD / THB measures the Thai baht per US dollar spot exchange rate, reported each business day. It shows the current market price to buy one dollar with baht.
## Why it matters
The exchange rate sets the cost of imports from Thailand and the revenue from Thai sales in dollar terms. A weaker baht makes Thai suppliers cheaper for US buyers, while a stronger baht raises input costs. Currency moves affect margin, pricing power and the competitiveness of overseas operations.
## How to read it
A rise means the baht weakened and each dollar buys more baht. A fall means the baht strengthened and dollars buy less. Compare current levels to contract dates, budget assumptions or the range over the past year to gauge exposure.
## What it does not say
It does not say why the rate moved, whether the change will persist, or what forward rates or hedging costs are. It reflects the spot market on a single day and does not capture intraday swings or liquidity conditions.
