TSMC Revenue, Trailing Twelve Months (USD)

Latest

122.43usd_billions

Methodology

## What this measures

TSMC's revenue over each fiscal year (the company files its quarters without XBRL), in billions of U.S. dollars, from its filings with the SEC. TSMC reports in New Taiwan dollars; Palanor converts at the average of the Federal Reserve's daily noon buying rates over the same twelve months (FRED DEXTAUS).

## Why it matters

Revenue sizes each company in the value chain; the treemap of the chain groups it by headquarters country and by stage.

## How to read it

Compare at similar period ends. Distributors' revenue includes the full price of the chips they resell, so it is large beside their profit.

## What it does not say

As reported, not adjusted for acquisitions or divestitures. Exchange-rate moves change the dollar figure even when sales in the home currency are flat.

## Source

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, EDGAR XBRL filings; calculated by Palanor. Public domain. Exchange rates: Federal Reserve Board H.10, via FRED.
