Thailand Nominal GDP, Index 2015 = 100
Latest
138.1index (2015 = 100)
Methodology
## What this measures
Thailand's gross domestic product in current local currency (World Bank NY.GDP.MKTP.CN) divided by its 2015 level, × 100. Written only for years that also have BIS credit data.
## Why it matters
Nominal GDP is the economy's income in money terms, the natural yardstick for debt: borrowers repay out of nominal income.
## How to read it
It includes inflation, so high-inflation economies show large numbers. Compare with the private credit index for the same country and year.
## What it does not say
It is not real growth. The newest year is a World Bank estimate for some countries and is revised.
