"Sequia" — Chile interest

Methodology
## What this measures
How often people in Chile search Google for "sequia", relative to all searches, weekly, on a 0–100 scale where 100 is the peak week in the five-year window.
## Why it matters
Chile has lived through a long megadrought that has rationed water for towns and set farms and mines against each other. Attention to drought tracks how pressing that is for the public.
## How to read it
Higher means more attention. It rises in dry years and with water-rationing news; compare against earlier years at the same time of year.
## What it does not say
Palanor queries the unaccented spelling, which is how the word is most often typed and which returns a denser series than "sequía". Some weeks read zero when searches are too few for Google to report. Search interest measures attention, not rainfall, and it is relative, not a count of searches.
## Source
Google Trends (Chile), fetched through SerpAPI by /api/cron/gtrends-sync. Weekly values from 0 to 100, relative to the highest week in the five-year window for the search "sequia". Google re-normalises the window on every fetch, so earlier weeks can shift slightly.
