Jordan · Electric Car Share of New Car Sales
Latest
12% of new car sales
Methodology
## What this measures
Electric cars (battery-electric and plug-in hybrid) as a share of all new passenger cars sold in Jordan, one value per calendar year, dated December 31.
## Why it matters
The pace at which new car buyers switch to electric drives oil demand, battery and minerals demand, power-grid load and the fortunes of carmakers that bet early or late on electrification.
## How to read it
Percent of new car sales. Plug-in hybrids count as electric, so a high share does not mean every car sold runs on electricity alone. Conventional (non-plug-in) hybrids are not counted as electric.
## What it does not say
It covers new cars only, not the cars already on the road, and not vans, trucks or buses. Small markets can swing sharply on one tax or incentive change.
