Methodology
## What this measures
Real gross domestic product, percent change from the year before, at constant prices. Mexico.
## Why it matters
Growth sets the pace of demand, hiring and tax receipts. The IMF uses one method for every economy, so countries and regions compare cleanly, and its forecasts are the reference most finance ministries and markets quote.
## How to read it
Each point is one edition of the World Economic Outlook, dated the first day of its publication month. The value is that edition's forecast for the current year (the edition's own year) minus the previous edition's forecast for the same year. Positive means the IMF raised its forecast; negative means it cut it.
## What it does not say
Forecasts are IMF staff judgment at the time of the WEO, revised with every edition. Recent years are often estimates until national statistics are final.
