Methodology
## What this measures
GDP at market prices divided by the resident population of Finland, in euros at current prices. Annual from 1980 to 2025.
## Why it matters
The simplest yardstick of how much an economy produces per resident, and the usual x-axis when comparing countries on anything from R&D to health.
## How to read it
2025: €49,870. Current euros, so it includes inflation; and it compares price levels too, so poorer members look further behind than their living standards are (Eurostat's purchasing-power figures correct for that).
## What it does not say
Output per resident, not income: in Ireland and Luxembourg it is inflated by multinational profits and cross-border commuters.
