Belgium Share Prices (OECD, 2015 = 100)

Methodology
## What this measures
A monthly index of share prices in Belgium, 2015 = 100. The OECD takes a broad national share price index, averages its daily values over each month and rebases it to 2015, so every country reads on the same base.
## Why it matters
Share prices discount expected profits and the cost of capital, so they lead the business cycle by several months and show how investors price Belgium's listed companies against the rest of the world.
## How to read it
Compare levels against 2015 (100) or the change over a year (the companion y/y series). Across countries, compare changes, not levels; each is in local currency.
## What it does not say
It is the OECD's rebased copy of one broad national share price index, averaged over the month, so it misses moves within the month and won't match any month-end close. Price only: dividends are not included. It is in local currency, so it says nothing about returns to a foreign investor without the exchange rate. The OECD revises and rebases it.
