Methodology
## What this measures
Daily heating degree days — how far the mean temperature fell below 65°F, summed over the day — weighted by where households that heat with **bottled, tank, or LP gas** live, for South Atlantic.
## Why it matters
This is a propane distributor's demand curve as a number, published by NOAA every morning. Cold where the customers are, not cold in general. Read against EIA propane inventories for the margin story.
## Source
NOAA Climate Prediction Center, degree days weighted by heating-fuel type (census divisions). Public-domain, daily.
