Six Party-Registration States: Republican Party Share of Registered Voters
Latest
25.3%
Methodology
## What this measures
The share of registered voters enrolled in the Republican Party across California, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and South Dakota combined: each state's last published report of the year, summed. Written only for years where all six publish; the current year uses the newest reports. Percent.
## Why it matters
A combined read across several party-registration states, so one state's list clean-up or rule change moves it less.
## How to read it
Read the change from year to year. It is a panel of six states, not the nation: about a tenth of U.S. registered voters, weighted toward California.
## What it does not say
Not a national figure: about thirty states register by party and this panel holds six whose counts are published in machine-readable form. Each state's report falls on its own date within the year.
