Median Age: Vietnam
Latest

Methodology
## What this measures
The median age of the population of Vietnam on 1 July of each year: half the people are older, half younger. From the UN World Population Prospects 2024.
## Why it matters
Median age is the simplest read of how old a society is, and so of its savings, spending, labour supply and political priorities.
## How to read it
Each point is dated July 1. A rising median age means the population is ageing. These are estimates through 2023.
## What it does not say
It says nothing about the shape of the age pyramid on either side of the middle; the 65+ share shows the top end.
