Brazil · Nuclear Share of Electricity Generation (Monthly)
Latest
2.4% of generation
Methodology
## What this measures
The share of all electricity generated in Brazil that came from nuclear power, in percent of total generation, one value per month, dated the first of the month.
## Why it matters
The power mix decides how much carbon each unit of electricity carries and how exposed a grid is to fuel prices. Shifts in it are the clearest measure of how fast an energy transition is moving.
## How to read it
Percent of generation; the single sources for one place add up to 100. Read it beside the place's total generation (TWh): a falling share can still be a rising amount when demand grows. Monthly shares are seasonal (solar peaks in summer, hydro with snowmelt and rain), so compare a month with the same month a year earlier.
## What it does not say
It counts electricity generated, not consumed: imports and exports are not in it. Recent periods are partly Ember estimates until national statistics are final.
