Denmark · Wind and Solar Share of Electricity Generation
Latest
72.05% of generation
Methodology
## What this measures
The share of all electricity generated in Denmark that came from wind and solar together, in percent of total generation, one value per calendar year, dated December 31.
## Why it matters
The power mix decides how much carbon each unit of electricity carries and how exposed a grid is to fuel prices. Shifts in it are the clearest measure of how fast an energy transition is moving.
## How to read it
Percent of generation. In a small grid the share can swing from year to year with weather and with how much is imported, so read the trend over several years.
## What it does not say
It counts electricity generated, not consumed: imports and exports are not in it. Recent periods are partly Ember estimates until national statistics are final.
