Brazil — Avg annual hours worked per worker

Methodology
## What this measures
Average annual hours worked per person engaged in production in Brazil. The measure comes from Penn World Table 11.0, an academic dataset that enables cross-country comparisons of labor input and productivity.
## Why it matters
Hours worked per worker help organizations distinguish between output driven by employment growth and output driven by longer or more intense work weeks. A sustained rise may signal capacity constraints or tight labor markets; a decline may reflect structural shifts toward fewer hours, part-time arrangements, or productivity gains that reduce the need for long schedules. Comparing this figure to other countries reveals whether Brazilian workers face unusually long or short working years.
## How to read it
A higher value means the average worker spends more hours per year in production. A fall suggests fewer hours per worker, whether from shorter workweeks, more part-time roles, or other structural changes. Compare across countries or over time to assess relative labor intensity.
## What it does not say
This measure does not distinguish between full-time and part-time workers, voluntary and involuntary reductions in hours, or differences across industries and occupations within Brazil.
