Norway — Avg annual hours worked per worker
Latest
1,412.06hours/year
Methodology
## What this measures
Average annual hours worked per person engaged in production in Norway. The measure comes from Penn World Table 11.0, an academic dataset constructed for cross-country labor productivity research.
## Why it matters
Annual hours per worker reflect the intensity of labor input and the balance between work and leisure in an economy. Shifts in average hours can signal changes in labor market norms, productivity arrangements, or policy settings that affect staffing, capacity planning, and cost structures for firms operating in or trading with Norway.
## How to read it
A rise means workers are on average engaged in production for more hours per year; a fall means fewer. Compare the level and direction against other countries or the organization's own assumptions about labor supply to assess competitive position and operational constraints.
## What it does not say
This measure does not distinguish between full-time and part-time workers, does not capture productivity per hour, and does not reveal sector-specific or firm-level variation in working time.
