Poland — Avg annual hours worked per worker

Latest

1,806.92hours/year

Methodology

## What this measures

Average annual hours worked per person engaged in production in Poland. The measure comes from Penn World Table 11.0, an academic cross-country dataset that enables labor productivity comparisons.

## Why it matters

Hours worked per worker reveal whether output changes stem from longer hours or higher productivity per hour. When hours fall while output holds steady, each hour is generating more value. When hours rise, organizations face tighter labor markets and may need to reconsider wage assumptions or hiring plans.

## How to read it

A rise means the average worker is spending more hours per year in production; a fall means fewer. Compare across years to see whether Poland's labor input is intensifying or easing. Compare to other countries in Penn World Table to assess relative labor utilization.

## What it does not say

It does not distinguish full-time from part-time work, does not show the distribution of hours across industries or occupations, and does not indicate whether changes reflect worker preference or employer demand.
