Russia — Avg annual hours worked per worker

Latest

2,086.68hours/year

Methodology

## What this measures

This measures the average number of hours worked per year by each person engaged in production in Russia. It reflects labor input intensity across the economy.

## Why it matters

Hours worked per worker reveal whether output changes stem from more intensive use of existing labor or from shifts in employment levels. Knowing whether workers are putting in longer or shorter hours helps organizations interpret productivity trends, plan capacity and assess whether labor markets are tightening or loosening independently of headcount.

## How to read it

A rise means workers are spending more hours in production each year; a fall means fewer hours per worker. Compare across years to detect shifts in work intensity or across countries to gauge relative labor input norms.

## What it does not say

It does not distinguish between full-time and part-time workers, capture unpaid or informal work, or explain why hours vary, whether by policy, culture, economic stress or productivity gains.
