Turkey — Avg annual hours worked per worker
Latest
1,747.46hours/year
Methodology
## What this measures
Average annual hours worked per person engaged in production in Turkey. The measure comes from Penn World Table 11.0, an academic dataset that harmonizes labor input and productivity metrics across countries.
## Why it matters
Hours worked per worker reflect the intensity of labor use in an economy and help distinguish whether output growth comes from more workers or longer hours. Organizations with Turkish operations or supply chains can use the measure to benchmark their own labor practices against national norms and to understand constraints on productivity growth.
## How to read it
Higher values indicate longer average working hours per person engaged in production; lower values suggest shorter hours. Compare across years to identify trends in work intensity or across countries to assess relative labor deployment.
## What it does not say
The measure does not distinguish between industries, full-time and part-time workers, or voluntary and involuntary hours. It does not capture informal work or unreported labor.
