Methodology
## What this measures
The part of GDP that no sector's value added covers, World: 100 minus the agriculture, industry and services shares of GDP. A Palanor calculation from World Bank data. 1995 to 2024.
## Why it matters
GDP at market prices adds taxes on products (VAT, excise duties) less subsidies to the value added by every sector. Showing the remainder lets the sector shares be drawn as a whole.
## How to read it
2024: 7.2% of GDP. It is mostly net product taxes; national accounting adjustments and rounding are in it too.
## What it does not say
A remainder, not a measured series: every error in the three shares lands here.
