Chile Copper Share of Exports
Latest
49.74% of goods exports
Methodology
## What this measures
The share of Chile's goods exports that is copper: copper ores and concentrates (HS 2603) plus copper and copper articles (HS chapter 74), as a percent of the value of all goods Chile exported that year.
## Why it matters
Chile is the world's largest copper producer. The share shows how much of its export income still rides on one metal.
## How to read it
A higher share means more dependence on copper. The share moves with the copper price as much as with volumes, so read it beside the copper price. Compare with the World Bank's broader ores and metals share (worldbank_chl_ores_metals_export_share), which also counts other metals.
## What it does not say
It counts goods only, not services. It does not separate price from volume, and it leaves out cobalt and other metals mined alongside copper.
