UK Real Wage Growth

Latest

0.7% y/y (3-month average)

Methodology

## What this measures

Growth in average weekly earnings after adjusting for CPI inflation.

## Why it matters

It shows whether UK workers are gaining or losing purchasing power.

## How to read it

Positive means pay is outpacing prices. Real pay fell through 2022–23 and recovered from mid-2023.

## What it does not say

It is an average for employees, before tax.

## Source

Office for National Statistics, series A3WW (dataset LMS), "Average Weekly Earnings, total pay, real terms: % change, 3 month average on same period a year earlier". Palanor reads it from the ONS website's time-series data every day.
