UK Wage Growth (Regular Pay)
Latest
3.7% y/y (3-month average)
Methodology
## What this measures
Growth in average weekly earnings excluding bonuses, latest three months compared with a year earlier.
## Why it matters
Regular pay is the wage measure the Bank of England watches most closely because bonuses are erratic.
## How to read it
Pay growth around 3% is roughly consistent with 2% inflation given UK productivity; well above that keeps rates higher.
## What it does not say
It covers employees only; job-mix shifts move it.
