Women's Share of Employed People, Household Survey (U.S.)
Latest
47.6% of employed
Methodology
## What this measures
Women's share of employed people: LNS12000002 ÷ (LNS12000001 + LNS12000002) × 100, monthly since January 1948.
## Why it matters
The household-survey view of the same question as women's share of payroll jobs, counting people rather than jobs and including the self-employed.
## How to read it
The household survey was not collected for October 2025 (the 2025 lapse in appropriations), so that month has no reading; charts break the line there rather than join September to November. The share is less affected by January population controls than the levels, because both inputs move together.
## What it does not say
It says nothing about hours or pay. Sampling error is larger than for the payroll share.
