U.S. Real Wage Growth

Methodology
## What this measures
Wage growth (avg-hrly-earn, 12-month change) minus inflation (fred_cpi, 12-month change).
## Why it matters
It puts the U.S. on the same footing as canada.real_wage_growth and uk.awe.real_total_growth.
## How to read it
Positive means pay is outpacing prices.
## What it does not say
It uses CPI-U, while the official real-earnings series uses CPI-W; the two differ by a few tenths.
## Source
Bureau of Labor Statistics, series CES0500000003 and CPIAUCSL ("Average Hourly Earnings of All Employees, Total Private; Consumer Price Index"). Palanor pulls it from the FRED API (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis) nightly. Bureau of Labor Statistics data are in the public domain. Palanor subtracts the two 12-month changes.
