Australia: GDP per Person at PPP, % of the United States
Latest
78.2% of U.S.
Methodology
## What this measures
Australia's GDP per person at purchasing-power parity (world.gdp_pc.ppp.aus) divided by the United States' (world.gdp_pc.ppp.usa) in the same year, × 100. Written for the years Palanor ranks the set.
## Why it matters
Putting each measure on a U.S. = 100 scale lets the three be compared directly: a European country can be well below the U.S. per person and close to it per hour.
## How to read it
Above 100, higher than the United States. The gap between the per-person and per-hour figures is mostly hours worked.
## What it does not say
PPP levels carry an error of several percent.
