Chile: Ores and Metals Share of Exports
Latest
58.59% of merchandise exports
Methodology
## What this measures
Ores and metals (SITC 27, 28 and 68) as a percent of Chile's merchandise exports. For Chile this is mostly copper.
## Why it matters
Chile is the world's largest copper producer; copper's share of its exports shows how exposed its trade balance and currency are to the copper price.
## How to read it
Annual, dated December 31. It was 58.6% in 2025, up from 55.7% in 2024. Since 1996 it has ranged from 40.6% (2002) to 64.3% (2007).
## What it does not say
It covers all ores and metals, not copper alone, and it shows shares, not dollar amounts.
