DR Congo: Ores and Metals Share of Exports

Latest

76.45% of merchandise exports

Methodology

## What this measures

Ores and metals (SITC 27, 28 and 68) as a percent of the Democratic Republic of the Congo's merchandise exports. For the DRC this is mostly copper and cobalt.

## Why it matters

The DRC is the world's largest cobalt producer and Africa's largest copper producer; this shows how much of its trade rests on them.

## How to read it

Annual, dated December 31. It was 76.5% in 2024 against 76.3% in 2023; the record since 2015 is 83.1% (2022). The World Bank has no earlier years.

## What it does not say

It covers all ores and metals, not copper or cobalt alone, and it shows shares, not dollar amounts.

World Bank, World Development Indicators (`TX.VAL.MMTL.ZS.UN`), from UN Comtrade merchandise trade data classified by SITC, via api.worldbank.org. CC BY 4.0.
