Oman: Fuel Share of Exports
Latest
72.35% of merchandise exports
Methodology
## What this measures
Fuels (SITC 3: crude oil, refined products, natural gas, coal) as a percent of Oman's merchandise exports.
## Why it matters
It measures how much of Oman's export earnings depend on oil and gas. Oman has less oil than its neighbours and has pushed hardest to build other exports.
## How to read it
Annual, dated December 31. It was 72.4% in 2025, down from 77.2% in 2024. Since 1996 it has ranged from 63.6% (2020) to 91.8% (2005). It falls when oil prices fall as well as when other exports grow, so read it with the oil price.
## What it does not say
It covers goods only, not services such as tourism or finance, and it shows shares, not dollar amounts.
