Peru: Ores and Metals Share of Exports

Latest

47.77% of merchandise exports

Methodology

## What this measures

Ores and metals (SITC 27, 28 and 68) as a percent of Peru's merchandise exports, mainly copper, zinc and other metal ores.

## Why it matters

Peru is one of the largest copper producers; this shows how much of its trade rests on mining.

## How to read it

Annual, dated December 31. It was 47.8% in 2024, down from a record 51.3% in 2023 (since 1996). The low was 30.7% (2001).

## What it does not say

Non-monetary gold is counted separately by SITC (class 97) and is not in this share, though gold is one of Peru's largest exports. It shows shares, not dollar amounts.
